(Visit the Best Sellers in Heat-shrink Tubing list for authoritative information on this product's current rank.)
Heat Shrink FEP (Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene) provides a high temperature, chemical resistant encapsulated assembly. 1.6:1 Ratio Shrink Tubing requires 375 +/-25F(190 +/-5C) to melt. This is a liberal and safe range. FEP goes into the gel state (amorphous from crystalline) at approximately 350 F (190C) The mandrel (part) to be covered by Heat Shrink FEP must be able to withstand this range of temperature. The mandrel being covered may act as a heat sink - literally freezing the FEP tubing before it has a chance to recover completely and smoothly, therefore preheating large diameter mandrels is recommended.
